The brand:
Since 1935, WALA Heilmittel GmbH has been developing products from nature. From the very beginning of its history, the company was a pioneer in a society that was barely aware of the concept of natural products. The speed with which the technical solution was found seems to have triggered the evolution of thought.
Rudolf Hauschka had already thought long and hard about a cosmetic line to complement his pharmaceutical line. But it was only thanks to the Viennese Elisabeth Sigmund, who created her own cosmetic products from WALA products, that his ideas took shape. The cosmetologist, who was living in Stockholm at the time, went to Eckwälden and worked with the medical experts to develop formulas for facial care products. Together they developed stable cream bases without chemical or synthetic emulsifiers and created fragrances based on naturalessential oils.
In 1967, the first skincare products were introduced to the market, and in 1971, Elisabeth Sigmund trained the first Dr. Hauschka beautician.
