The royal jelly is a whitish, gelatinous substance secreted by certain glands of young bees feeders. It is intended for the feeding of the larvae at the first stage of their development and constitutes the exclusive diet of the queens throughout their existence
Also called "bees' milk", it contains many substances, including :
- • sugars (15%), mainly fructose and glucose
- • protein (from 18% to 13%)
- • fat (3% to 6%);
- • minerals (1.5%);
- • vitamins, especially those of the B group, notably B1 and B5;
- • trace elements (minerals in trace form).
The royal jelly is used to strengthen the natural defences, reduce physical and intellectual fatigue and support convalescent organisms
